CC Capture Technical Requirements

System Requirements:

  • Internet Connection:
    • A stable and efficient internet connection is essential as CC Capture operates exclusively as a cloud solution with no offline mode.
  • Computer Specifications:
    • Compatible with Mac or PC computers (refer to specifications below).
  • Instrument Compatibility:
    • Ensure compatibility with the designated instrument or remote instrument.

Internet Connection and Security:

  • CC Capture utilizes SOAP and HTTPS protocols.
  • A standard HTTPS port (typically 443) and 587 are required for proper operation.
  • The connection employs an SSL certificate.
  • Whitelist chromachecker.com and its subdomains for seamless operation.

Important Instructions:

  • Run the application as Administrator for installation and updates.
  • Screen savers may disconnect instruments.
  • Anti-virus/Firewall software might interfere with proper operation.
  • A low-speed or unstable internet connection can lead to server disconnection.
  • It is recommended to run the app with elevated user privileges (admin mode). Otherwise the internal updater cannot work, and it is not possible to restart Techkon services if necessary.

General Recommendations:

  • Use ChromaChecker Backer for all instruments except iSis.
  • Implement CC-2D Barcode Reader for user authorization and precise task definition.
  • Regularly track instrument repeatability with the T-42 Instrument Inspector Target.
  • Monitor RHT data with USB-RHT Sensor.

Mac System Requirements:

  • Tested on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, and Ventura with no known issues.
  • No additional hardware requirements for Mac computers, except for Xrite eXact BT connection limitations.
  • On Apple ARM Macs (M1–M3 processor), Rosetta 2 must be installed for full functionality.

PC System Requirements:

  • Compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • CC Capture is currently tested on Windows 10 and Windows 11 only.
  • Older Windows versions (7 or 8) may work but are not actively tested.
  • For optimal performance, it is recommended to run the application with elevated user privileges (admin mode).

Display Resolution:

  • Recommended resolution is 1920 x 1080 for QuickChecker to avoid scrolling.
  • Optimal design purposes at 1600 x 900, with a minimum supported resolution of 1024 x 768.
  • Adjust resolution based on specific user requirements and the complexity of reports.

Minimal PC Hardware Requirements:

  • Successfully tested on low-cost Windows 10 Tablets with an 8-inch 1280 x 800 touch-screen.
  • Tablets should ideally have two or more USB ports and a separate power supply.
  • Consider using an external USB hub for additional connectivity.

Optimal PC Hardware Requirements:

  • Recommend using Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Desktop computers for optimal performance.
  • Compact size with various built-in features, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, physical Serial Port, HDMI/Display Port, and multiple USB sockets.
  • Useful for press rooms, with the option to connect to a large TV set for visibility at a distance.

Additional Considerations:

  • For certain scenarios, display with screen-touch technology may enhance usability, particularly when barcodes are implemented.
  • Reiterate important information regarding installation, updates, screen savers, anti-virus software, and internet connection stability.
