The most critical is to print, measure, and analyze IT8.7/5 (TC-1617) with Color Management ON. The key parameter is E-Factor.
In most cases, we are not observing variation issues - printers used as proofers are high-quality low-speed devices, which is why we are starting from the Accuracy test skipping Variation. If the Accuracy is not good we can check Variations with the VI-816 Test form. This is the only printing device where the Variation test is optional.
We can expect the most from a proofer among all printing devices. We know from the conducted research that it is possible to keep the proofer permanently with the E-Factor value around 1.0 This should be a goal for all demanding users. A very good proofer should finally print with E-Factor in the range of 1.1 to 1.5
| less than | 1.1 | Excellent | |
| 1.1 | 1.5 | Very good | |
| 1.6 | 2.0 | Good |
