Features and unique benefits:

1. Any Direction - the user may start scanning in the normal or opposite direction
2. Bar-code support for Scanning Template selection and description.
3. When working with CC Capture it is possible to scan control strips with patches from various color spaces RGB, CMYK, Hi-Fi, ECG, Lab, and Spot. 
4. With CC Capture i1 Pro instruments support special patches slurring/doubling, DUD, and others
5. with Substrate Black&White backer advanced substrate measurements including opacity. 

Basic principles:

1. The user has to start scanning before the first patch and end after the last one(start and end on white).
2. When scan mode Some M-condition requires DualScan
3. A Zebra ruler is required for the scan in DualScan mode (i1Pro 2 and 3)
4. Always when measuring non-opaque materials use the backer.
5. Don't try to break the scanning length limitation - the max value for a number of patches is 28. It is forbidden by the manufacturer. 

Recommendations:

1. Track your instrument with Instrument Inspector T-42 Target frequently.
2. ChromaChecker Backer is strongly recommended - Errors caused by improper backing might be more than ∆E00=2 (tested on EPSON Standard Proofing Paper 205)
3. The Calibration Standard (ceramic plaque) and optical path have to be clean.
4. Launch X-Rite i1Diagnostic (free utility) to check Instrument and perform lamp restore procedure at least semi-yearly.
5. Make sure that your USB socket delivers enough power and you are using a high-quality connection cable.
6. Be sure that environmental conditions (RHT) are in the recommended range. uSe RHT-USB to track parameters
7. Mark on your zebra ruler where your start and endpoint are - that prevent scan mismatch

Limitations

Instrument Limitation:

• Light measurements made with i1Pro Instruments are only partially according to ISO-3664 specifications. However, only a few, very expensive instruments on the market are fully covering restrictive requirements.  
• Some OEM versions like EFI ES-1000, EFI ES-2000, EFI ES-3000 - have some hardware limitations and do not offer the same functionality. 

CC Capture Limitation

Some test forms have similar patch colors close to one another, and the i1Pro 1 cannot always understand the differences between the colors. Therefore we recommend i1Pro 1 be updated to i1Pro2 or i1Pro3.
