Quick Start — First Measurement

Take your first measurement with CC Capture. No account needed for initial evaluation — use QuickChecker trial mode.

Quick Start — First Measurement

Walk through taking your first measurement with CC Capture. You can explore the software in trial mode (QuickChecker) without a ChromaChecker account. CC Capture carries G7® Certification — production use of the G7 tool requires an active subscription.

What You Need

  • A compatible measurement instrument connected to your computer and recognised by the operating system.
  • CC Capture installed — see Installing CC Capture.
  • A ChromaChecker account — or use QuickChecker trial mode (no account required) for an initial evaluation.

Select Your Inspector

When you launch CC Capture and log in, you will be presented with the QuickStart menu. Choose the Inspector that matches your workflow:

Print Inspector
Scanning control strips on press — CMYK, G7, ECG
Color Inspector
Spot and brand color quality control
Substrate Inspector
Paper and substrate characterisation
Lighting Inspector
Measuring and auditing viewing conditions
Instrument Inspector
Verifying instrument performance and repeatability

Trial Mode — QuickChecker

If you don’t yet have a ChromaChecker account, you can use QuickChecker — a free trial mode built into CC Capture. QuickChecker allows you to:

  • Measure spot colors and evaluate them against a reference
  • Use a scratchpad for fast on-the-fly evaluation
  • Refer to Assets (color libraries and palettes)
  • Export measurements to CxF format
  • View the ΔE Variator and Snowflake tolerance visualisations

QuickChecker is ideal for getting familiar with the CC Capture interface before setting up a full account.

Demo account limitation: Demo users share a workspace with other test users. Data may be deleted without notice, and ICC profile or G7 curve generation is not available. Register for a free trial to get your own workspace.
