What do you need to start?

1. ChromaChecker Capture software
2. A spectrophotometer, for example, i1Pro, Myiro-1, Nix, X-Rite eXact, or any other supported.
3. Color Printer: any digital or large format printer; however, for best accuracy, select your proofer.
4. Rip or any software that makes it possible to control color management and use absolute colorimetric rendering intent

Prerequisites

1. Create a custom ICC profile for your printer /substrate condition. It is possible to use a generic profile delivered by substrate manufacturers; however, it will require more iterations to dial in the optimum color, and in the end, it may be less accurate. Please understand that the printed color must fall within the printer's gamut range.

2. Ensure that your printer maintains uniformity and repeatability in its printing process. If the printer is not uniform and repeatable, then the quality of the match will be reduced. Capture has a function called Start Variation, which checks for printers not being uniform in the print within the page and repeatability between pages.
