Project Inspector

Organise color conformance work around customer projects — link standards, devices, and measurements into a single trackable unit.

Project Inspector

ChromaChecker Project Inspector — managing color projects, assigning devices and standards, and tracking E-Factor scores across jobs, customers, and time.

What Is a Project?

A Project in ChromaChecker is a named container that groups a color target (standard), one or more printing devices, and all measurement history into a single trackable unit. Projects are typically created per customer, per brand, or per contract. Project Inspector gives managers and operators a unified view of conformance across the full lifecycle of each job.

Color Target Binding
Each project is linked to one or more tolerance sets — ISO standards, G7 targets, or custom brand specifications
Device Assignment
Multiple presses or printers can be assigned to a project — offset, digital, flexo, or large format
E-Factor Scoring
Every measurement in the project contributes to an aggregate E-Factor score, updated in real time
Historical Archive
All measurement runs are stored and searchable — full audit trail from project creation to delivery
Multi-location Support
Projects span sites and production locations — manage supplier and in-house presses in one view
Approval Workflow
Mark measurement runs as OK-approved or flag for review — integrates with customer sign-off processes

Project vs. Device View

Print Inspector shows data per device — one press, one tolerance set, one trend chart. Project Inspector shows data per customer or job — all devices that have ever produced for that project, their individual performance, and the aggregate conformance picture.

When to use Project Inspector: Use it when a customer requires proof of color conformance across a production run, when a job is reprinted across multiple devices, or when a brand requires a documented audit trail of every measurement session.

Conformance Reporting

Project Inspector generates conformance reports exportable as PDF or CSV. Reports include:

  • E-Factor score per device per session
  • ΔE values for each measured channel against the project standard
  • Pass/fail summary by tolerance set
  • Timeline view of all measurement sessions within the project
  • Operator and instrument identification for each session
