Capture Inspector — Control Strip Library
ChromaChecker Capture Inspector includes a Public Library with many of the common control strips used across the printing industry. Import any strip in minutes and start measuring immediately.
Accessing the Public Library
To browse and import control strips from the Public Library:
- Open CC Capture and navigate to Capture Inspector
- Select the Scanning Template tab
- Click Public Library to open the online archive
- Browse the library by manufacturer, press type, or strip name
- Select the control strip you need and click Import
- The strip appears in your local scanning template list, ready to use
Default Scanning Templates
CC Capture ships with a set of default scanning templates for the most common control strips. These are available immediately after installation without any import required. Access them via Capture Inspector → Scanning Template tab.
The default templates include strips for major offset, digital, and flexographic workflows. If your strip is not in the defaults, search the Public Library or create a custom control strip (see Custom Control Strips documentation).
Supported Measurement Workflows
Capture Inspector supports a wide range of measurement configurations:
- Inline scanning — automatic strip recognition with instruments like X-Rite iSis, i1iO, or Barbieri
- Manual scanning — handheld instruments with patch-by-patch or sweep measurement
- Virtual control strips — for workflows where physical strips cannot be added to the print form
- Barcode-driven scanning — scan a 2D barcode on the sheet to automatically identify the job and strip
