QuickChecker Manual

Step-by-step documentation for every QuickChecker feature.

Include Substrate in the Evaluation

Pre-measure the substrate and get ink density predictions.

Overview

Including a substrate measurement enables ChromaChecker to calculate accurate ink density predictions and evaluate samples relative to paper-specific parameters.

Key Behaviors

  • Substrate measurements have modified reporting compared to color samples
  • In Projects — measurements are compared to a preselected Reference
  • Tolerances are adapted to substrate-specific parameters
Measuring the substrate first unlocks the Minus Paper density simulation and improves ΔE prediction accuracy throughout the session.

Workflow

  1. Press the Substrate button in the Action Bar before any sample measurement
  2. Place the instrument on unprinted paper and measure
  3. The substrate whiteness and OBA values are recorded
  4. Proceed with normal sample measurements — density predictions are now active
